I agree, it would be nice to be able to forfeit a box. Another useful reason is when you're at the end of the map needing new levels, and no new levels will come out before the box expires.

Just play with minimal gold usage, take your time going through levels, and hoard as much as possible, winning all the episode races and filling all chocolate boxes.
