Did you get up to level 973 or is that just the game placing you in the wrong place by error? What are you playing on exactly?

What was the aim of blocking the App from updating itself? Issues can occur after updating and generally reinstalling puts things right again.

Did you try play the game in a different browser? What's the one you're using now?

What did it say on the level Failed message? It has a line underneath that saying what went wrong, for example "A candy bomb is about to blow"

Can you take a screenshot of that and share it back here? I don't think I've ever seen it say "Waiting" in the game. Is that coming from the game or when you are trying to install it?

What are you playing on exactly? And also important to know what the error message said, may offer clues as to what happened.

Might need to fiddle around with your Flash settings. What happens if you load the game in Google Chrome? It's got flash built into it.

I thought the game only gave you assigned friends when you aren't connected to your Facebook account. Do you appear connected in the game?
