I think I can explain what happened. From time to time we do test certain features in our games- the selection of the players who get to test the features is random and changes frequently- this means that you may have been in the group which "tested" the ads feature, and now you're in a new group and will maybe receive new features.

As I said, the groups change often, so I'm sure you'll get the chance to watch ads and receive lives or boosters soon.
