Christmas Season is my favorite time of the year. I was lucky to have come from 2 countries where Christmas is celebrated where the tradition is quite similar in a way.
Yesterday, I started the Baking Sweet Goodies' Tradition for my family to enjoy. Below are the photos of what I baked. As Christmas gets closer, I will be making Cheesecakes for Christmas Day. I will also bake different types of cookies to share with the neighbors. Christmas Eve is the big Main Dish Cooking Day which is the busiest day in my household. Prime Rib is our favorite, so Prime Rib it is with all the good stuff.

For us , we would get together to Celebrate our Love and Joy of family and our thanks for Jesus (each of us would bring our different food items and Sweet items). I would make Buckeyes and homemade Christmas cookies (from my Great Grandmother's Cook Book). My cookies were the favorite !!
Since, we are all grown-up we do not get together as much. And, since my family turned their backs on me (when I needed them most), I usually do something with my son (like go gamble at the closest Casino).
This year was going to be different, my son has a newly adopted baby boy, so I was hoping to have a Christmas dinner at my place (still in the making). The five of us, with the same mother and father, haven't got any biological grandchildren and to us it is more about the children during Christmas time : watching them open their presents and seeing their eyes light up as they see what Santa brought them !!
It is still the best holiday !! I wish you all the best day ever on December 25th, whether you have Christmas or not !!

I love Christmas. I celebrate it by starting early Christmas morning with opening gifts and then make a small breakfast. Then I start cooking Christmas dinner and it usually takes most of the day. I usually fix steaks, twice baked potato with a salad and fresh baked bread. It’s always a wonderful day with family and friends. 💞🎄💞

You know what I miss my late husband especially during Holidays. He was always with me in the kitchen. He used to chop vegetables for me when I prepare our Holiday Feasts. He is the Erik in mercerik.
Talking about smell of food, last year my next door neighbor to the north dropped by to give me an Early Christmas present. He said to me "your house smells so good". I was baking my French Silk Pie crust made or ground Oreos.
It is too bad you're not a neighbor, Elsa. We could make a lot of goodies in my kitchen.
