I must be doing something wrong because I do have Chrome set to Auto Translate and it does not work when I head over to the International area.

Yet this is what I see.

I gave up on automatic translation.

I write in my language, then translate into English using google translator.

And then I change languages and read what my text looks like if it is translated back from English into my language.

Often my message changes its meaning. That's not what I wanted to say! Therefore, I have to correct the message, rewrite the phrases and hope that my message is understood correctly.

But when I read the replies to my message, I understand that I am not always understood correctly.

Honey, you have to click on the blue letters, where it says "add languages" and select the language you want to translate.

    @johamilton

Please come to the German area and I have stored everything with pictures. That could help you. I did it from the PC as it is easier.

Welcome to the Community, @channie8 !

Glad you enjoy the international pages. Question for you: if you could create a new international corner, what language would it be? ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Thanks for the tag, @Spinnifix

    Hi there!

Surveys have already been made which new language should come in? Even I had started a survey, everything is stored somewhere in the player's corner.

    Gday @crabapple and @Timhung @Diamond Lim @nat0007 @hechicerilla

thankyou so much for visiting here it is very encouraging!!

I tried 3 translators before I settle with Bing and finally got the hang of it. @Spinnifix and @DieOmimi were very patient and helpful. Bing is a lot of cut and paste but is worth the effort and you learn a new skill, which is fantastic. Always moving forward right lol

Find a translator that you feel comfortable with, it will be different for everyone but that's ok. Whatever works for you personally, then it will become fun for you and the experience will be more pleasant.

Thankyou for the tag. Sometimes they can be annoying but in this case it's productive in assisting people and helps everyone to widen out within The Community. Thank you!!

I have many English speaking friends who have learned other languages. Here's some examples in case you're curious:

    1) Irish born lady had spoken English and Gaelic - now also speaks in Arabic

    2) Italian born man spoke Italian and English- now Vietnamese.

    3) Young lady spoke English - now Chinese

    4) Number 3's sister spoke English - now Hindi

    5) 6yr old boy who speaks English - now learning Japanese

    6) 3x youngsters speak English - now learning Sign Language (OZ LAN)

and so many more I haven't mentioned! The effort they have all put in is amazing. They haven't let age deter them. Some are as young as 15 and others are well seasoned in their 70's. I'm especially inspired by some of my best friends who are in their 70's who have embraced technology and "blown me away" with they're proficiency in it lol!

The above beautiful people I have mentioned, not only speak they're chosen new language but read and write in it also.

The native speakers they associate with now are so inclusive of them and teach them how to cook in that culture too. Which , lucky for us, they pass on when we get together and it's scrumdidlyumsious!!๐Ÿคฃ

@channie8 You are right about finding the translator that works for each individual. I seem to be a bit dumb with all the new things I am learning in the Community. It takes me a bit longer to catch on, lol. ๐Ÿค” ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿค”

When I first needed a screenshot (for a challenge) I couldn't remember how I was supposed to do it. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ฑ Needless to say, I missed out on the challenge. The same thing happened to me with gifs (I didn't even know how to access my clipboard) and of course the translator.

The Community has so many wonderful people in it to help you out when you need it, unfortunately they about have to draw me a picture. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ You did well writing this thread.

Hey! Would you like to give us your opinion?
