It was a sad day indeed when he was assassinated. I just completed another story and this one is on history. Here is a picture about him.
We had 2 great tragedies not many years apart. First President Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 and we were still in shock over his death and then Martin Luther King was assassinated too. How tragic it was for all of us.

@Lola_Pop Dr. Martin Luther King is known worldwide as an important fighter for human rights, especially in the fight against racism. His fighting took place non-violently. With words and speeches, he advocated a non-violent and intransigent commitment to civil rights.
Although I am not directly affected, I have to say that, unfortunately, there are still people today who insult or threaten other people because of their skin colour or belief. This is something I cannot accept.
I am glad that in our community we exclude such behaviour by means of house rules. However, if anyone does something that discriminates against or insults groups or individual players, I will vehemently oppose it. It cannot be the case that someone is, his faith or other attributes.
Violence is not the solution either. Dr. Martin Luther King always sought a nonviolent solution in the civil rights movement. We can learn a lot from his legacy.

I am Canadian. Having said this what happens to our neighbors to the south affects us greatly as it does the rest of the world. 2020 was a year where our world seemed to be turned upside down. Between the global pandemic & civil unrest humanity seems to be lost and are struggling to find peace, health & happiness. In the words of Dr King "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." As my neighbors to the south prepare to inaugurate a new President this week I pray for a peaceful end to the social & economic injustice that has plaqued your country & mine & that humankind can learn to accept each other regardless of race, colour or creed. "I have a dream..."

I'm not Americsn, but, standing outside the Lorraine Motel and thinking of his "I have a dream" brought years to my eyes. He did so much for racial equality and his untimely death prevented us all from seeing just where it could have lead.
