Unfortunately my father passed away 3 years ago from complications of a stroke. My father had a difficult childhood, both parents died in WWII and he and his brothers and sister were placed with relatives. My father was placed with a brother of his father and had a terrible time there. In the end, his grandparents had taken him and his brother out of there. My father had a hard time talking about the past, he became very emotional. I felt his grief and pain and cried with him.
He was very strict with us because of his childhood, but that was because of concern. I know he loved us very much, but struggled to show it. I am also an emotional person and I am very much like him. As a result, I often clashed with him, but we both knew we loved each other.
My dear Dad, I still miss you every day ❤️

My father passed away 3 days before my 17th birthday. Although we never got to spend too many years together the years that we did share were filled with love.
If I had to choose my favorite memory of the two of us, I would have to say that spending Saturday nights together watching Canadian hockey was a special time for both of us. There were only 6 hockey teams back then.
The “original” hockey teams — the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers — were the six teams that comprised the NHL from 1942 to 1967. This is a picture of Henri Richard who won a record 11 Stanley cups. I can’t remember now who screamed the loudest when our team scored a goal. Go Canadiens! Those were the fun days!
I have such sweet loving memories of him and I doing things together so it’s not always about the quantity because in my case it was all about the quality!
Before closing, I’d like to share one more memory with you. When I was 16 years old my parents made me a Sweet 16 luncheon at a restaurant. My father created a huge sign to display that day. I never thought about his creative side until I started writing this message. Guess I got my creative talent from him!

My father is a hero. Since childhood, my father has always emphasized that education is very important, as a proverb says study as far as China. So my father prepared his children to get a good education, until finally we all became graduates thanks to his struggles

In Spain, Father's Day is celebrated on March 19. Formerly it was a national holiday, but in 1979 it ceased to be a national holiday and is only a holiday in some autonomous communities. I can't speak much about my father, sadly not all fathers in the world are good. But I can talk about my grandfather.
He took me to the movies for the first time, I must have been 5 or 6 years old. In the cinema we saw Peter Pan and then Grease

I remember that my father did not expected presents, flowers or anything else on father's day!
A good word was the best!
Actually he did not know that there is a father's day, for many years!
On the other hand, he knew very well the mother's day and he always was telling my sister and me, not to forget bring flowers to our mother!!
