Are you singing Elsa's song @aautz1? Let it go ................ Let it go..................... The weird thing about this being given my name is that whenever someone mentions it I turn around.

I really like your story and also, very creative naming the storm after you.

    Hi @Elsa

That’s a deal. We will be going into a tropical storm warning probably tomorrow or Monday. If it’s stays a tropical storm then it would be a lot less dangerous. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s just rains and some winds. 🤞

I hope my tropical storm/hurricane will fizzle out before it hits land. 😁

Much of my job is the same of anyone who goes for a service in a place, then in another and so on.

I have scheduled date to do mainteinance, I have to deal with traffic, I have clients who calling me at the last moment to cancel 😆

I think it's not that different to, let's say, the daily routine of a plumber.

A friend of mine installs alarm systems and seems we do the same job, for example.

I don't know if all this can be called interesting, maybe the argument is, I would say it's unusual.

Generally, meteorologists work for those who pay them and the equipment is not their job to get it.

Weather stations work on small range and there are different kind.

The ones I work with the most, are for home use (because there are more than professional or advanced stations): there are personal weather stations that are very cheap, and the clientele is quite varied.

For sure, it's not a fundamental device for a private use, so much of those people are kind of eccentric; there are those who live near the sea and want to know when to go out fishing, some others wants it in the villa to know when to organise a barbecue, some want to play with it because those stations got a cool digital display 😜

Then, my company has a good number of components in meteorological huts, located in woods and pine forests, and these are taken care by forest police or similar institutions.

About the hurricanes, I'm in Europe and my coast is the mediterranean sea, we follow the Atlantic storm season, but you know, isn't the same. Having a hurricane alert here is quite unusual.

Anyway, there is always one or more government agency who takes care of these kind of alerts or any nationwide forecast.

In my country, the air force center makes forecasts and the civil protection provide for meteo alerts.

In USA, I think is the national weather service who predict hurricanes, not sure how it works because is far more complex than here.

@Pajarulo, I am really enjoying this message and all that you wrote above. I never knew any of this at all. I would never have thought that people would purchase it for personal use to know when to go fishing or organize an outdoor party. Perhaps being stuck indoors this past 1+ years has narrowed my mind in what others really do during their lives. This is really interesting to learn all of this.

I know what you mean about maintenance. My son-in-law and his father own a cash register company and they service supermarkets. He constantly gets phone calls when the store's system goes down and he has to send people out to repair them or those on a computer program he has to help them fix the coding problem. My ex and now my son work for the phone company. My son handles maintenance repair.

Why would people make an appointment only to cancel at the last minute? Is it something that they thought wasn't working but then started again?

@Elsa Sure, also that of cash registers is an example of a routine that could be similar to mine or many others.

I don't know about people who cancel appointments, they generally say they can't be there.

I believe that people find it harder and harder to organize their lives. Maybe this last year spent mostly at home, will change the perceptions of some 😏

Thanks @Elsa & @Diamond Lim Thanks @Elsa for sharing important stories like this with the community. Where I live in Canada tornados are much more of a threat however hurricanes often affect Eastern Provinces such as NL, where I am originally from. Western Canada has been under a heat wave for a few weeks now with record breaking Temps of 49°C. Glaciers are melting at an alarming rate & normally majestic Icebergs are a common site & tourist attraction in Newfoundland but not this year. An unseasonably warm winter & hot Temps in the spring & summer take a large toll on the ecosystem. It we want our grandchildren & their children to enjoy all that God created for us then we must be much more mindful of how we live today affects the future of our planet.
