I don't celebrate valentines day, but I wish all who celebrate to be happy and peaceful with their couples. ❤️

Hi my friend here in the UK it is mainly celebrated with chocolates and roses over a meal out
The younger generation go as far as extravagant gifts or holidays
I think my generation still do it right by being simple but intimate 💓

My ex and I never celebrated this holiday. But I always made sure that my kids got the candy and cards to hand out to their friends.

I bought myself flowers when I turned 40 years old. I knew that my ex would never buy them for me. Turning 40 was traumatic for me because I was getting old so I called a florist that I knew and told her that I wanted to send me flowers for my 40th birthday. She asked what to write on the card and I couldn't come up with something good so she said that she'd write "Happy Birthday, I'm not getting older, just better". When the driver rang the doorbell I looked outside and saw the truck. My ex asked who I got flowers from and I told him that I didn't have to wait for anyone to send me a gift. I could buy whatever I want by myself! Maybe I should treat me to a box of chocolates for Valentine's Day because no one will ever love me as much as I do!

Thanks my dear friend. Instead of celebrations I would prefer to write my dear friends here and enjoy the messages that they write. That's the best kind of love - being acknowledged by friends and doing it back to them. Also giving a Love reaction to those that post in my messages. Also creating the signatures and seeing their excitement that they can now add it to their profile. That to me is what love is all about!

Hi @srikandi I don't think we've exchanged messages before. How about we share pictures and things from Google here. To me that's more of a celebration that actually going out to dinner or buying each other presents! I'm going to see what I can find and come back here and post it. How about you do the same thing.

Hi @teeweiping! Are you getting ready for the Chinese New Year? It's next week. I've been watching a lot of Netflix and I've watched a couple of shows where they are showing the dragon that they carry and the firecrackers. That is such an awesome tradition to celebrate things like that. I know that there are a few community members that celebrate that too so maybe next week we should post things that you and your family do. It just gave me an idea that I think my gnomes need a new story about that celebration! 😀

The origin of the Roses are red poem ……………………….
The original version of the poem was written in 1590 by Sir Edmund Spenser. His poem The Faery Queen is an allegorical work in praise of Elizabeth I and her virtues (such as temperance, chastity, friendship, and courtesy, among others). Spenser wrote that one of his intentions was that the reading of this work should 'fashion a gentleman or noble person in virtuous and gentle disciple'.
It was upon a Sommers shynie day,
When Titan faire his beames did display,
In a fresh fountaine, farre from all mens vew,
She bath'd her brest, the boyling heat t'allay;
She bath'd with roses red, and violets blew,
And all the sweetest flowres, that in the forrest grew.In 1784 there is another mention of roses that are red in a poem by Joseph Ritson. It's very similar to the poems that we see today.
The rose is red, the violet's blue,
The honey's sweet, and so are you.
Thou are my love and I am thine;
I drew thee to my Valentine:
The lot was cast and then I drew,
And Fortune said it shou'd be you.Do you think Nutcracker would have had a better chance of winning over Tiffi's heart if he wrote her a poem? What kind of Roses are Red poem should he have sent her?
If anyone has a few free moments today please google the poem and post someone's version of it.

Yes, CNY is coming! It's on next week. And we have already done cleaning our house and make CNY cookies 🍪. So, next week one day before the Day of CNY all our family members and relatives will gather together to eat a lot of delicious dishes 😋. Now, we are slowly preparing the dishes and then put it into refrigerator. We will take it out that day and warm it. I hope that I remember to take photo of our dishes on that day.

I want to learn more about the celebrations and then I'm going to post a message here. Then you can share pictures and personal stories with all of us. How does that sound?
