Puzzle Pieces

I am getting "puzzle piece" levels in Blossom Blast. What do they even do? Don't seem to win anything or make any progress with passing them. Totally frustrating! What's the point?

It looks like it's to introduce new mechanics into the game and seeing as not everybody has it, must be a test for now.
