I have tried all day to play but keep getting told it will be 29 hours toll I get free lives again. Is this normal or is there a problem. If it is a problem how can it be fixed?

Did you change the time on your device?
If so, open the app and check the time it says you have to wait for your next life.
Then set the time on your device forward by that amount of hours that you have to wait. Go back to the game's map screen.
Go back again to the clock settings on your device and set back the time to the current time. Restart your device.
