Prior to logging out of Facebook my game progress was saved, I had 77 messages with lives. When I logged back into Facebook my progress was saved but all 77 messages were gone. How can I find those 77 message?

I don't think the game is build to carry that many messages. I've seen that some of the other games from King has a max of 5-10 messages.
The messages are stored on your mobile device so it could also be a sync issue.
I think the best you can do is to keep the number of messages under 10 and to send requests once you get below 5 messages with lives - this way you'll be able to receive fresh lives while you play the game.

I am level 1313, and the entire time I have been playing this game, I have always wondered what’s the difference of getting 1,2, or 3 star? There is no incentive to strive for 3 star since I don’t see getting anything but higher points.
