Looks pretty simple. The treasure chests are on levels you haven't played yet right on the map from where you are. So if you can beat a few new levels in an hour you collect those three treasures. after that the timer resets.

I resolved this problem by clearing my browser's cache. If it still persists I would also run a free malware scan like malware bytes to make sure there isn't something using your computer's resources with out you knowing.

Sounds like an issue with your device. I would google something like "store has stopped Amazon Nook" to see if it is a common issue.
