Best thing to do in this case is make a fresh Installation of the game. It's not uncommon for Apps to be unresponsive after an OS update.

If anyone who's your friend on FB who play and got all the stars for any section first will remain the champion even if you get them after, that's from my personal observations anyway.

Can you take a screenshot of the error message your getting and post it back into your post?

Since you're tablet has been updated, it would probably be a good ides to reinstall it if it's not being working properly since then.

Don't get disheartened as it's no easy level to beat, the only thing I can suggest is taking a look at a video of the level being completed but boards are always different so it's not always helpful. Sending you as much luck as I can possibly muster!

Have you got the Facebook app installed on your Cell Phone? If you do, disconnect the game from FB on it and then uninstall the FB app. Then after you install the Facebook app again, log in and find a game notification and select it. Let me know how it goes!
