There has probably been a reset of the events while you were playing. This does sometimes happen. 9am UK time we often see events change. It is possible that the event was changed from one version to another. However, this probably means you will get a higher payout as well.

Are you sure? I've always been able to play Candy Royale offline, and the levels count. The only problem is that you can't press the "claim" button if offline, but until the final level the event carries on normally for me.

The problem now is that for the colour collections only new levels that you pass count. This is a huge change from how the chocolate box used to work. For the colour bombs and boosters you can use older levels and you can also fail them, just as before. But this no longer works for blue, orange, green or red collections.…

Well, some players now get 17 moves for this level, which would mean this is now passable as the last dragon will drop with two moves remaining. However, I am not sure if this is just a small test group or if the move count will be increased for everyone.
