Did you spend any money on anything in the game @dianemartin3d ? If you did that would explain why the ads have disappeared.

The chocolate box only registers when you are connected to King's server. If you cannot press "play" or if the box hangs up on you, close the app. Then check your internet connection is good before you reload the app and play one level. This app loses connection to the server quite easily and it is not always obvious.
