Lost stars

When I am going back to replay levels to get 3 stars, I am losing stars. I have 3/3 stars on chapters 1-4 which should give me 30, 45, 45 and 60 stars respectively. I have 59 from chapter 5, 35 from chapter 6, and 21 from chapter 7. Overall I should have 295 stars. You get 1000 stardust for every 15, and then your counter resets. So having 295 total stars means I should be at 10/15. But my game is at 5/15.

I am having this same problem. I am missing at least 6 stars and i have seen the counter decrease. Please give me my stars back.
