A donut 🍩 is a single serving for a single person. Maybe you can split it with one person. Like a best friend with whom you have an agreement to cut the 🍩 into equal halves 🌓 and eat together.
A donut 🍩 is NOT a cake 🎂. It is not intended to have multiple servings for multiple people. Just because it is round does not mean individuals may take a wedge shaped slice 🍰 out of the donut 🍩 as if it were a cake 🎂. I don’t care how fancy the donut 🍩 is or if it had enough frosting to look like a cake 🎂, chances are that the pastry chef had not intended this donut 🍩 to be hacked to bits with a dull butter knife in the break room. It was probably a beautiful looking donut 🍩 before that one person got there, that person who thought, “meh, I don’t want a whole donut, I just want to try one...lemme take just a bit of this chocolate one here...oh wait is that lemon curd?!” By the time two or three people have done this, literally three dozen beautiful donuts 🍩 are now like bleeding pastry appendages in a sad box of good intentions. I’m glad you had your little sampler tray, butter knife queens, but what about the other 20 people in the office who actually wanted a donut 🍩? And don’t hand me that you were leaving us slices 🍰 and doing the right thing by not taking a whole donut 🍩! Who wants a Boston Creme donut with someone’s finger prints in the chocolate ganache and the custard conveniently absent??? !!!!!!!
