Can’t make payments

I’ve just bought a new iPhone 11 but I can’t make payments any more.

This might be a silly question but have you added card and payment details on your new phone?

Lol yes I have, I’ve now changed my preferred payment to PayPal ( which is linked to the same debit card!) and it works! Very strange.
