It’s time to choose a winner

And with the last judge’s comments the competition comes to an end. The host tells the contestants that the judges will now have to decide who the big prize winner is. He tells them to head on over to the room over there and he will call them back once the decision has been made.

“So, guys who do you think the winner should be?” asks the host.

“It’s a tough call,” says the first judge. “Let’s compare each round separately.”

First round - chicken

“I really liked the fried chicken a lot,” says the first judge. “The buffalo wings were a bit too spicy.”

“But the roasted chicken was also very good,” says the second judge. “The grilled chicken had some nice spices but the rice was over cooked.”

“This is going to be a difficult decision,” says the third judge. “It’s the fried chicken or the roasted chicken. Let’s move on to the next and come back to this one.”

Second round – Italian

“The second round was the Italian,” says the first judge. “The lasagna could have used more sauce but it was pretty good.”

“I liked the fettucine alfredo but the pasta was al dente,” says the second judge. “I thought that the pasta with Bolognese was very good. I think it might have been the best for this round.”

The third judge agrees with both and really hasn’t much more to add because the spaghetti with meat sauce definitely need spices and salt. He thinks that the pasta with Bolognese should be the winner of this round.

Third round – Mexican

“For the Mexican round, I loved the empanadas!” says the first judge. “The nachos were good but there weren’t enough chips on the plate.”

“I really enjoyed the quesadilla,” says the second judge. “Something was missing from the burrito. I think if she would have used the right cheese, it would have been a winner.”

“This is going to be another tough round in choosing the winner,” says the third judge. “Both the empanadas and the quesadilla were really good. Let’s move on to the final round.

Final round - Seafood

“Our decision might have to be decided by the seafood round,” says the third judge. “The lobster was cooked to perfection!”

“But you can’t rule out the spicy fish soup,” says the first judge. Even though you felt that there wasn’t enough shrimp in the soup the flavor was there!  The spices were spot on!”

Wait a second,” says the second judge. “The fish and chips were out of this world. The crunch when I bit into the fried cod was so loud to my ears. She made an excellent tempura batter.”

“So, now what?” asks the third judge. “We can rule out the clam soup because she left the closed clams in the soup. But we all loved the lobster, the spicy fish soup and the fish and chips. How are we going to decide? We need more time to start eliminating.”
