It looks like a Winter Wonderland

Look at these beautiful winter scenes! Now that she thinks about it she really knows very little about winter itself. She grew up in Canada where the snow blizzards were bad but back then there were no computers and no Internet to do this searching. She starts to think more about this time of year. How cold does it get in different parts of the world? Are there some countries where the temperature drops a lot lower than other countries? What about the animals? Some migrate and some hibernate but why? It sure sounds like this might be Elsa’s next story.

So she thinks to herself…………………..

Winter is the coldest season of the year. The days are short and the nights are long. Many trees survive by losing their leaves and lying dormant during this chilly season. Some animals hibernate to help them save energy and survive winter. Other animals migrate to warmer regions. People wear layers of clothing and must heat their homes during this time.

‘Everything glistens, as if a fairy has sprinkled her dust over the entire world. Colours are brighter against the pure white blanket that spreads as far as the eye can see. The houses become works of art, with their beautiful undisturbed snowy roofs. Aerials and chimneys become sculptures, taking on new forms.

Children are jumping about and running around. They have the day off school and their excitement is clear. The older children confidently strut around aiming snowballs at anything that stands still long enough. Smaller children cower and scatter as they try to avoid the incoming missiles. Girls scream and hide as they are bombarded with wave after wave of relentless snowballs.’ (Source)

During her googling she comes across the names of Jack Frost and Old Man Winter. Time to read more about that!

Let’s continue here - Are they real?
