Windows 10 App doesn't get message updates from Facebook

I have installed the Windows 10 App on my laptop, and been using it for a few days. All progress is synchronised with Facebook, and I am asked if I want to send extra moves (or lives) when I click "Play", but no messages appear within the App, even though I can see that there are messages waiting for me if I log into FB. Have tried logging out of FB from within the App, and then logging back in, and also restarted the laptop. Any ideas?

I think although its connected with facebook it might be like mobile and facebook where the boosters, messages and lives are all separate. Or it could be related to this issue (have a read of the moderator post)

Similar issue to the one you provided a link to, but tried the suggestions and still messages don't come through. Boosters and lives are separate, but messages should appear whichever platform you play on. What is worse, I just logged onto the W10 app when 10 messages were showing in Facebook - none came through to the app, but it has cleared them from FB!! So it has obviously communicated with FB, but not loaded them into the App. It works occasionally, but more often than not, it doesn't work.
