Hello @hugrad215 and welcome to our wonderful King Community. I had something very similar happen to me when I recently replaced my iPhone X with a new iPhone X. I initially didn't have the fun events either. But after I played a level or two it showed up. So now I do get the build a bot (and sometimes Dexter).
Go ahead an play a few levels - they don't have to be new. Then exit the app and turn off your phone for 10-20 seconds. When you turn your phone back on and open the app your fun events should be back. If they aren't please comment below and I will try and help you further.
