Hi there and good day to you... Are you still automatically level up now? This looks like a special case 🤔have you tried checking for game app update? Pls try if you haven't and report back the outcome.
Are you logged on to two different FB account whilst playing? If yes, please log out all acc, restart your device again and log back to the main acc. Do you want to restore to your original level 20 levels down? If yes, I'll tag our CMs to help.

The problems you mentioned may be due to a game app error and for now please follow the steps below.
Clear Cache(For an Android) - Check App Update > Log Out Game > Restart Device > Open Game & Log In.
If you still have the same problem after doing this, you will get the solution by reinstalling your game app but you will lose all the stored boosters.

If it's not worked, How about you tried to follow these troubleshooting steps of Crashing/Freezing issue/bug. (I hope it's solved! 🤔)

If you want to try uninstall and install steps, you have your gold bars are saved/transfered but all of the boosters have lost and some events will be reset or gone.
By the way, their team will is still testing this new feature (that means it's still not complete to be fixed yet) that I hope you can understand to read it. 😊

I’ve followed all the steps to correct this , signed out , deleted and reinstalled the game severally but it still happens, I play the game for about two levels and leave the game but when I come back ,I’ve been moved forward about 10 levels (which are awarded a star each) . The game isn’t fun for me again !!!

Looks like ur game has been corrupted. I fear that u dont have any other option but to reinstall the game. But remember u will lose all ur boosters. If after reinstalling u lose ur levels plz. Inform us ur ID and i will request our CM to manually update ur levels.
