May I know whether you have restarted your device after updating the app? If you haven't please reboot or restart your device and log back in your game. Alternately, disconnect your device from internet, wait for a while and reconnect back your device to the internet and log back in. Hopefully, the app will load. Most importantly is to ensure that the internet connectivity is stable and no running background app that may affect the performance of other apps.
