This issue won’t affect the familiar gameplay and your normal level progression.
However, it might mean that you:
You do not need to contact us if you’re experiencing either of these issues in your own game. Once the fix is in place, your profile photo will reappear and Facebook friends lists will return.

It is intermittent and sometimes it fixes itself. However, you may try to disconnect your device/game from the internet, wait for several seconds or more before reconnecting it back to the internet. Play a level and see if you are able to see your friends' list or send lives.
