I'm not sure if you want to change the avatar of the game or the community. You have already modified the Community Avatar correctly, but you need to reach Community level 5 to use the custom Avatar. You can find detailed information about this in the link above👆
On the other hand, if you want to change the avatar of the game, If you are playing the game by connecting to Facebook, then your Facebook profile picture will be your game avatar. In this case, you need to change your Facebook profile picture.
If you are playing the game through Kingdom you will not be able to change the game avatar from the mobile app, in that case you will need to use a PC

Then your problem is possible because your game is not fully connected to the server. If you change your Facebook password while the game is already logged in, you may encounter this problem.
I'm telling you to follow the steps below now, let me know if you get any error message while following it.
Check App Update > Log Out Game > Restart Device > Open Game & Log In.
Moreover, if you have already found such an error message, then you need to reinstall the game app. (You will lose all stored boosters and unsaved levels)

View and update your profile
Click on your Avatar on the top right corner to go to your profile - Then click on the green button on the right-hand side and select "Edit Profile"
Change/update your notification preferences
Once there, you can select how you can receive notifications (pop-up or email) and for which things.
Update your avatar
Go to your profile and hover the mouse on your avatar. You will then be able to click "Change picture" and choose or upload an avatar.
and If want changed your own Profile should reach level 5

@Fiscorum Hi and welcome, To change your avatar in the community you go to your avatar top right of screen and edit profile then change picture, You can only change for a custom picture to you reach level 5, then you can change for your own picture.
