Obviously this level has changed. Every video I see shows needing to get 2 cakes and 32 chocolate. Mine says I need to get 2 cakes and 64 waffles. It's not even marked as a difficult level however, having played it for days now, it's impossible! Anyone have some tips or tricks here or do I just have to wait for a lucky board?

This level is quite tricky.
The board has 21 chocolate squares but you need 32 chocolate squares.
You need to clear cake bombs and chocolate at the same time.
Please do not clear all the chocolates instantly and you need to wait...
Please do not 100% rely on chocolate spawners.

This level is horrible but it is not impossible.
As I know, they only change the order to waffle, decrease 3 moves and change to striped cannons.
The spawning rate for waffles does not change.
You need to make a lot of cascades let waffles keep spawning.
The max is 5. --- The waffle cannon will spawn the waffles if the board has fewer than 5 waffles.
I keep trying and try to make a walkthrough.
