Losing spare lives

Every time I go in the game, it asks me to accept the update and then I go to play, the first thing it says my Events are under construction. When I finally am able to get into the game, all of my spare lives are gone. I had over 100 saved and all gone. I just went out for a few minutes, came in and again the same thing, and I had like 2 saved - all gone again.
