The reason in that photo you only have one life is because you friends only gave you one. The other is someone asking you to send a life, therefore the reason in that transaction you only got one life is because you only had one in your inbox.

If you would like to get more life’s, I recommend getting more friends as more are more likely to react to you asking for life’s.

From your screenshot you can see that the first friend is asking for a life and the second is giving it to you. For this reason you have only received one life.
