The game has been going on for a little over 4 hours now. My current score is 100 decided I would sit out this competition. The number one position in my group was close to 200,000. I thought I had candy crush skills but not those kinds of skills. Is Everybody else score that high?

Depends on one's current level, resources (boosters and gold bars), determination and free time. I'm still at 27k after my daily episode. Yet to do older levels to.
You don't need to be #1. Top 3 players qualify directly, and there are a few more places available via Wild Card rounds but you must be #1 there. So, as long as you're in top 3, you don't need to break your fingers. 😃
