Have you been duped into believing that all out crushing through the rounds would get you into the finals?
Well here is how a clever player with the right strategy might have done it. Fair and square and without cheating!
Stage 1: Start playing with only 24 hours left. Play a few levels. Make sure you are in the top 5: Easy
Stage 2: Same as above: Easy
Stage 3: Phone a friend. Any friend you know who is also playing All Stars. Ask them how many players are on their leaderboard. Only 10 again? Great. So join 24 hours from the end of the round, play one episode. Easy!
Stage 4: Phone a friend. Any friend you know who is also playing All Stars. Ask them how many players are on their leaderboard. Only 20? Great! Join the round late, again. With about 24 hours to go. Crush along as much as is needed to top your leaderboard. Maybe two, three episodes. Depending on the opposition you might have to work at it for a few hours, but definitely easy for a good player to do. No need to lose any sleep!
Stage 5: Phone a friend who is still in the competition. Ask them how many players are on their leaderboard? 50? Are these the same 50 names and none get added? Great! That means you can wait. It's a bit of a risk now, but you could try joining halfway through the round. Or maybe even later, so you can get some sleep ready for the final. It depends on your stamina and how many other players are using this strategy. Crush non stop once you join a leaderboard and hopefully this means your leaderboard will be of 49 others also starting at the same time, so crush as fast as you can for whatever time remains on the clock.
Stage 5: Now well rested you can compete against all those zombies who have not slept for a week. You will have to crush non-stop for 24 hours, so if you are generally good enough and used the "wait to join" strategy for the first five rounds then you really do stand a chance.
Good luck to anyone out there who has used this strategy!
I played starting late in each round. I realized early on that players weren't sorted before starting each stage, and that starting later would be less competitive. My current knockout round is less competitive than others. I started 4 hours after the current knockout round started. I should have waited longer.
Thanks. I'm in a top position currently but don't expect to hold it. To get to this position I had to pass every level on the first try (just did a 150 plus streak). The final round will require each player to win on the first try and have a lot of boosters. I simply refuse to invest money in this game so I will not make it through.
I know the winners stated they didn't spend money last year, but I find it hard to believe.
I think it's possible, if you plan months ahead. I started a new game of Candy Crush in August to test out if it would be possible to win All Stars without spending money, and by the start of All Stars had 15,000 gold bars in that game! So it would be possible to pay for all the boosters you need without spending real money.
Haha you know what is going to happen now right? Will ignore the first 3 rounds as they don't matter.
Round 4, all the eligible players will be but in a randomizer and assigned to a group. All groups will start at the same time so waiting will not put you in a "latecomer" group :D
