Hello @Carol_Tik and a very warm welcome to our wonderful King Community! If you have updated your game, as mentioned above, to the latest version and you are still having problems with sending or receiving lives, then you might try signing out of Facebook, then de-install Facebook, close the platform you are playing on for at least 10 seconds (whether PC or mobile), then restart your device, reinstall FB and sign into the game and see if that helps correct the problem.
Now that you have found the community - I encourage you to stay and explore, meet new people from around the world who share your love for the various King games, make new friends, get help on difficult levels, share tips and tricks you have picked up, enter contests and just have a lot of fun!

Hope you've tried all the above suggested steps. If it doesn't work, please do not be despair. Sometimes, it takes few times for the app to reload properly after you've exit and re-enter the game.
You may also disconnect your device from the internet, wait for a while before reconnecting, then enter the game and play.
