Can't see any friends anymore

I accidentally deselected all my friends from some join friends screen and now I can't see any of them and I'm not able to ask a life.

Ask life button is not displayed anymore.

How can I get back to what I previously had?

Hello and welcome, do you have the new candy connections feature as friends have gone missing for a few people and due to an issue with Facebook the feature is not working correctly at present. This is being investigated and hopefully when fixed you should be able to get your friends back in the game.
