What happened to all the lives that people sent me???

Ah OK!
Lives can occasionally be lost with an update of the game, when the game crashes, after clearing the cache on the browser you play on or clearing the cache in the mobile app.
Lives can also be reset after various technical issues either in the browser you play on or on Facebook. If you play on a mobile device, technical issues either in the game itself or on the mobile device can cause that the Lives can sometimes reset.
Bear in mind also that if you have hundreds of Lives stored for some time and do not use them, the game can reset the mailbox to free some memory and improve the game's functionality.
So, I recommend to try to use the Lives when they come in and not storing them up since they are saved in the game's cache memory and not backed up anywhere like your levels and Gold Bars.

@Crazy Cat Lad thanks for trying, but no, that's just more of the same information that has nothing to do with what I'm asking. I'm able to send and receive lives -- that isn't the problem. The problem is that people had sent me about 320 lives, and they were all sitting there ready to be used, and then one day they had disappeared. I don't know how to go about getting them back, and this is really more than I can stand, so I'm going to stop playing the game.

@Crazy Cat Lad Thanks so much for taking the time to respond and yes, now I understand. But it doesn't make me feel any better about what happened, so I'm still going to quit the game. I wish King had a real customer service division instead of forcing us to rely only on one another. If there was a real rep I could talk to, I bet they could restore all my lives. Oh well, this way I'll have more time to read. Thanks!
