Wrapping items in its silky sugar shroud, the Sugar Coat will form up to 3 layers over each Candy.
How does it work?
(*For the summary of the Sugar Coat, fast-forward to the end of this article!)
The Sugar Coat will be fixed on each Candy and will remain there until you remove it by matching the Candy it covers. It will move with each Candy it covers throughout the board, so the good news is it won't hold any Candy in a fixed place.
Each coat is made up of three parts, which are '3', '2' and '1' as shown below.
Removing the Sugar Coat is easy. You can match Candies inside in the usual way! Simple as that!
Sounds too good to be true!
Well, it's not quite that simple. What won't happen, is Candies that fall into a line and match like usual. For Sugar Coated Candies, you'll need to manually match them. Those cascades may be a little trickier to trigger!
Also, adjacent matches won't wear the coating down. Only direct matches of the candies covered with the Sugar Coat will take the coating away.
Unlike some other Blockers, blasts from Special Candies like the Striped/Wrapped combo will not wear this solid covering down.
Also, you won't be able to match a Special Candy that's got Sugar Coating on it unless the Candy is of the same color as the match. If you're trying to match a Color Bomb, only those clear of the Sugar Coat will trigger.
What else do I need to know?
The Sugar Coat Candy will remain fixed on Candies, so it's important to tackle it if it holds an item you need to release.
Pro tip: Use the Sugar Coated candies to your advantage, by moving the Special Candy to a place you can make the most of it. Match it to remove the Sugar Coating and then use the booster to the best effect!
Remember, Special Candies like Striped or Wrapped won't be matchable if they're covered with the Sugar Coat. To trigger these, you'll need to remove the Sugar Coating first.
*To sum it up...
- The Sugar Coat will have up to three levels
- The Sugar Coat will move with the candies it covers
- Matches reduce the coating
- Adjacent matches do not reduce the coating
- Special Candies (Color Bombs, Wrapped, etc.) can't be matched till the coating is removed
