If the objective is to get you to use more boosters/buy gold then removing the 20-min free lives will no longer achieve this. I was happy to use a few boosters to get the extra lives as it seemed a good deal but I won’t bother in future.

I agree @Carol-38 It’s never been a special event although it’s been hit and miss for me as to how long it lasts.
