Is it possible that hints, like everything else in the game are split into different 'test' groups? My hints have never shown the best move, but usually if you study the area where the hint is you can find a better move. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when you delete the app, it deletes your boosters and lives from friends. These are stored on your device and not the King server. If you paid for the boosters, you can try contacting support, but if you earned them playing the game they will not replace them.

Yes, you are correct. As soon as you break the cage, the sprink counts as collected.

Did you use them in the first round? The six tokens are intended for all rounds of the tournament. Once you use them you do not get more.

I still have all mine, but then I am not a serious threat in All Stars, and I don't think anyone in any of the leaderboards I have been in is either. No one in any of my leaderboards has used any tokens and the scores have been low. The serious players will be saving as many tokens as possible for the last knockout.

I always check the objective and boosters offered before I start a level. Sometimes not selecting a booster is the better choice, especially with the lucky candy and the fish. Level difficulty figures into it too.
