This happened to me very often. I just played a game and it came back. Even by going to the map and come back to the event page will restore your score and ranking. I guess it takes a while to update. Not sure this will work for you.

The Esc button should work on the Candy Crush Saga App installed from Microsoft Store. However, if you play from Facebook on any browser, the Candy crush Saga will not response to Esc button. I am not affected since I don't have Candy Royale pop-up in my game.
