Actually it is not a problem.
For example, I'm in third place in this contest (15 levels), I'm playing 40 levels without internet connect so you can see me in third place as long as I don't connect the game to the server.
I can go to the first place (15+40= 55 levels) by connecting the game to the server before the race is over.š
