Hello, there are changes made by the studio where the king and fb players are shuffled on weekly basis for the weekly contest/race. So now we will see new players for the race every week. And they will keep changing every week as well.
I think you're referring unknown players appearing on your game map. If this is the case and you're playing the game via Facebook but seeing the said unknown players on your game app, most probably you're not properly connected to your Facebook profile and thus in offline mode.
Firstly, please ensure that you are logged into your Facebook app and that your game app is also up to date. Then click on the setting tool in your game and log out from it. Restart your device. Go back into the game and log in as usual.
Alternately, disconnect your device without exiting the game, wait for a minute or less, then reconnect back your device to the internet, play a level and exit to game map and see whether those unknown players are still in your map.
Hopefully, the above works and please let us know if you need help with other issues in the game.
