Help! I updated the app and now can't participate in any of the events

I recently updated my app now i can't see nor participate in any of the events. Not even the race. When i come on the game to play i can not see any of my friends. Nothing. Please help.

First try log out, clear cache, turn off device, and log in. You also might have to play a level. If you still don’t see features, then you might have to uninstall/reinstall the game. Uninstall the game is the last resort because you may lose your boosters if you are using mobile device. Good Luck!
