I too am having this issue game closes as soon as it gets to pay and profile screen I'm unable tap play as it crashes before, I play on Android phone, device and game is up to date.

im not willing to use the chromebook exclusively for the game so if it won't play with other apps in the background, i will say goodbye to the game if that is necessary.. nearly up to level 4300.. but it's a big waste of time anyway and i hate the new pop up ads

i am convinced it's the king servers because the other parts of the game have been very wonky lately.. the cake game was so lagged it wouldn't play for the last 3 events.. also mr toffee game often won't connect.. it's a sudden thing and ccss is the only thing that is not working properly on my chromebook

chromebook is a browser. you install apps..so changing the browser would not make a difference
