Very stuck on L 1550

I've been on this level for days and days. I try to make stripes, etc. and to concentrate on the lower portion but the closest I can come to clearing 18 bears is 15 of them. The black licorice gets in the way and makes them useless to use. Any other suggestions. I don't have enough helpers to use and will not purchase them.

Hello @sabca1 I’ve replayed level 1550 and yes this is a hard level. Make use of the purple candies! If you can make a square, some purple fish pop up and will try to free the bears.  If you manage to get 4 purple candies vertically the board will clear a bit. With 5 purple candies in a row will blast the whole board. Also try to make a vertical striped candy and combine it with a fish. That way a whole row can be hit. Hope this helps you 🤗
