After checking out Discord previously, for games other than King, I was disappointed at all the swearing, friction and immaturity, which didn't appear to be looked at by Discord or the gaming company involved. All the grey and black wasn't easy on the eyes and navigation wasn't as easy as it is here in the forums. Nice to read that King representatives will be looking after theirs👍️
That being said though, tis a nice option for those who do like it and do conduct themselves in a mature fashion.
It's been a nice break from the PM's here in the forums, since some of them were not nice and ended up causing more delays. Guess I'm not sure if I would like PMs coming back if that were to start up again.
I enjoy collaborating in the public threads. Encouraging others and building on ideas. Actually conversing with people and talking about the games and content in an upbuilding fashion that promotes creative thinking and inclusiveness. I like that it hasn't become a Facebook type site and is about the games that brought us together in the first place.
Yes I like the badges and activities, helping others with support enquires and joining in celebrations. I've enjoyed observing the assistance members have given one another in creating King orientated animations and signatures, seeing the origami efforts everyone's made, being part of feedbacking for the community and the Game Teams.
PM's aren't vital for those things to occur and had some not abused the option, then those things may've been able to be collaborated on further. I like the team competitions in game and the in game rewards, not having to upload a gazillion screenshots for them here.
Maybe now the House Rules have been upheld (not just there for show) and knowing the standards of acceptable adult behaviour, reflecting on the demise of the PM's may garner a new appreciation for them. Yes it was awesome to receive PMz of a creative and collaborative nature, for dealing with some private information with dignity and even those good ideas from those too shy to place them in the forums. Unfortunately though, as is the case in life sometimes, a great thing can be ruined by a few (as we saw with the sharing of PM content, screenshots, belittling and bullying behaviour. Breaking most of the House Rules frequently and not behaviour we would condone if we saw our own children/ grandchildren doing online).
I'm on the fence. We have Moderators and CMz who care here. We are looked out for. For those who like the competitive and screenshotting required for Soda Team games, then Discord is a nice alternative and keeps tension away from here. There's email options also. Just saying🤷♀️
