for some reason, the new winter games does not come up on the Candy crush Soda home screen, where I normally access any new games within the game. I've updated and still nothing. All my friends are playing the winter games, but the pink bubblegum Avatar with the game isn't there. Please help

Make sure Check app update - Log out game - Restart Device - Open game and Log in.
The Bubblegum Hill or Events is in the Test Group so we cannot say for sure that you will always find this feature.
The Fun Event menu returns when the game is regular. Probably no event is currently active for you so the menu is not available.
Keep playing the game, your fun event menu will return.
