The only free boosters I am aware of are the one you get upon logging in for the day, and a bonus from Rainbow Road if you win 6 levels in a row on your first try.

I don't get bonuses by watching adds. Therefore, if I am out of moves I only use my Gold Bars if I beleive I can complete the level within those 5 extra moves. Otherwise, I just try the level again until I am out of lives. The wait time on lives is far too long, btw.

I was going to suggest something similar :) It would be great to either win a booster or perhaps have a booster be activated upon starting the race (to help you win the levels). I would also like to suggest that when we are prompted to start the race, there could be a decline button. Sometimes I begin a new "episode"…

It's possible you were not logged in. Sometimes when I open my game I'm not logged in and my bars drop to zero also. Have you tried re-launching the game?
