If you go to King.com and go into your account setting, you can choose a to link your Facebook progress to it. Once done you won't have to connect to FB anymore.

Sounds like you might be at the roadblock, do you get something asking you to collect tickets from friends in order to advance?

When in the game, do you sign into FB via the FB app without having to enter your credentials or does a browser page pop-up where you connect via the FB site?

How much available memory do you have exactly?

If you have Windows 10 then go to the Windows Store and download the game app directly, much better than playing through a browser. Updates, resets, reinstalling will not have an effect as long as you actively connected your game to either Facebook or Kingdom, your progress will be saved and synced to it. If you did, when you reconnect to that account in the game again, the progress from the point where it was last synced will come up.

I know that some event's are platform specific but I'm not sure if light up the night is one of them. To have access to the special event's the game has to be either connected to Facebook or Kingdom, might be worth checking your connection in the game and disconnect/reconnect to see if it makes any changes.
