Could be quite a few reasons Scott, for example whether you are both using the same OS (as level releases are not out at the same time for Android and iOS), and another example is whether the update/ new feature is going through an A/B test. There are many reasons why but I can only speculate.

Do you still have grayed out levels or has it fixed itself? Uninstall/ reinstall usually helps if something has been corrupted in one of the game files, could be worth a shot if you're still stuck.

It's tough but look for opportunities to make colour bombs after every bomb you set off, and try to avoid making striped or wrapped candy as these will most likely detonate a number of colour bombs at once, making difficult to match the ones you need.
-
Ah ok, I think you may be talking about the live ops event of collection colour bombs for a prize. They're only available for a short time and this one was a mobile exclusive, which is why you couldn't see it in your game on you laptop.

I don't think anything can be done in this case honestly, as you have to assume responsibility for your actions. The idea of a confirm button isn't a bad idea though I have to agree!

At which level are you at currently in the normal mode?

I know that's what happens when you connect the game to the Kingdom, it allows you to see other players and can make requests/gift them without being friends. Did you ever connect your Soda game to it by any chance?

"The bubbles have been busy recharging, with new levels out in just a few days...." This was posted yesterday in a thread on the Soda Facebook page so the answer is soon Chris! :) Plus this is the only place I've ever seen King announce about new levels, worth keeping an eye on if you're curious again in the future.…

Only place I've seen news about new level updates is on the Soda Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/CandyCrushSodaSaga?fref=ts

It's due to the game being on different platforms, first levels are made for the King and Facebook site, then they convert and optimise them for mobile and tablet, which is why sometimes there is a bit of a difference. Fruits seem to be dropping fine so I think it's safe to say they've fixed it.. let's just hope nothing…
