Unfair cycling mechanics

Emi_lijaEmi_lija Posts: 61 Level 3

For more than a month now some players (me included) have been patiently waiting for increased speed on collection runs while watching others who already have that feature gathering steps almost twice faster affecting the whole leaderboard system and making it unfair. We thought we'll be getting that feature too eventually cause it would be fair, right? Well, obviously we were all wrong considering it is an "extra game element" and maybe it won't be available to all players. And that's not all, features like this one will come, go and cycle around BUT NOT AMONG ALL PLAYERS, just the lucky ones. Only the "core" game will always be the same for all players. I think we deserve little more transparency and information on matters like this one. Btw I also have only 3 free daily adds for collection runs (while others have around 20) which means if I don't pay crystals to revive myself I'm loosing trophies every single day so that is also "fun". I would appreciate some explanation of this situation. @QueenMia

I think we all thought that the speed increase was going to become "a thing" for everyone eventually, but then to claim it's going to cycle around just for fun, without actually making that public is ridiculous. People will think their game is bugging when they suddenly lose the speed increase. I hope this floods the Player Relations team, and they realise they're being unfair, and that their idea if having different game elements is just silly.

I really don't see why they can't just make the speed increase a permanent part of the game, but with the option to turn it on/off. This way, everyone is happy.

Cycling thru different mechanics and features could indeed spice some things up and I would love to see more of it (it's similar to little timed events) BUT only letting some players randomly having access to them without even telling them and excluding other players is just straight out wrong.

No one is sure anymore when something new is added if it's a bug or an intended behavior because there is no real communication about these "hidden" features and you can't ask other players because they are apparently playing a different game than you are which only leads to confusion in the community.

I really hope that they are going to change how they handle these in the near future.

I really hope that they are going to change how they handle these in the near future.

The only way they will stop this nonsense is if they decide the moneybag is filled enough and pull the plug.

    • Official launch: March 24
    • First report of random spawn point: May 7 (44 days later)

The 'experimental features' state has been longer by now than the initial 'functional' state.

When I heard that people was spawning in random locations upon starting a collection run, I was so confused since I always started in the same place each time. Didn't the random spawns started around late March or April? Then late last month I started spawning in different locations shortly after I realized I was running faster in collection runs.

Speaking of them, I got it randomly. I thought I somehow activated a glitch or something that could break the game. Then I found out people had it as well. I thought everyone had it until I saw that people one discord didn't have it. I'll be honest, is extremely unfair. I even heard people lost their speed in collection runs too and I hoped they gave us an option to change our speed during the 1.50 update...buut I was wrong.

What's the harm in giving everyone the same buffs that others have? Especially if it's a major game changer. The speed increase is very useful (hazardous sometimes) and it's awful to hear that not everyone has it, since it's essential for seasonal contests.

To you and those who don't have the speed increase, I do hope you all get it soon. There's no reason why you shouldn't, especially since no one warned us about this. Hope this is settled in the 1.60 update.

I'm actually experiencing the random collection run spawn... it's annoying and confusing whenever I start a run, I don't have any idea where I am since I memorized the path patterns, I'll only recall it after a short while when I ventured longer. Tho' this feature's gonna ruin everything whenever a new, unexplored map is unlocked, it will surely anger anybody, since it's gonna be hard to memorize the path.

More Problems the Random Locations and the Speed up cause is losing Material due to Spawn issues.

Sometimes walking a, Certain path will prevent some Material boxes from Spawning.

So not only will you have to walk aroubd gain speed and potentially miss materials of your not already very Familiar with the Stage but also sone will just "stop existing" because you walked a Certain Path.

    E. G. In Dino Might the Material for Nitro Eggs that is attached to bones or the "Floating Stone Snake" just won't appear... Well, sometimes one of the 2 material crates appears on the floating Snake, but it sure as hell isn't working as it used to.

Also, thanks to the increased speed dropping through the floor randomly seems to be more common again.

I think you shouldn't be higher than 1.3 in Collection Run and if Survival Runs stopped at 1.7 maybe they wouldn't crash all the time around 800 Trophies.

How is that post being ignored by most of the community here?

  • Emi_lijaEmi_lija Posts: 61 Level 3

Maybe it wonโ€™t be ignored when new cycle starts and those who have speed feature lose it and those who donโ€™t have it get some new feature. Maybe just then people will start wondering whatโ€™s going on and asking why is the game unfair to them just like weโ€™re doing now

  • PauoloPauolo Posts: 495 Level 3

And then they will spam the forum with new threads on the same topic.

    Probably a mixture of:

    1. Most of us are driven away be the way this game is managed.
    2. Those who stayed know it's futile to try and go against this.

    Edit:

I would love to see statistics about these stats for this community:

This post is not ignored I can assure you, it's just one of TOO many (and it was addressed to them directly!) showing that if they decided to do things on their own way, we can complain about it in here as long as we can, it won't matter to them... people who are struggling with these issues are either tired of not been heard after sending so many posts, either gone (decided to leave all this)...

As for this part (marked blue) of their response

    You're not telling the truth!

I believe Survival runs are part of the main "core" of this game (if gaining trophies are one of the main goals) On the day I got this new update I scored 1000+50, since that day I lost every single ticket I tried to play due to a black screen, game freezed or endless loading.. So at this point I can't finish any Survival run (even with zero score!) nor complete Aku aku quest because it says Compete in Survival run...

The same main "core" game for all players, no way!!!

  • MaCoPiMaCoPi Posts: 409 Level 3

@XcrashNplayX is it possible to just play the run to like 200 trophies or so and then just crash on purpose? don't watch an add and just take the 200 trophies. this way you should at least be able to finish the Aku quest.

At this point, Support could just be called Players Relation. They tell whatever King tells them to do to justify their design choices or lack of.

    • Missclicked on the game's main UI? That's the players' fault for having fingers too big, nothing wrong with the UI whatsoever...
    • Run features being deployed arbitrarily among the player base ? That's a new "surprise feature" to make the game less boring (which was made boring by forcing players to repeat the same runs ad nauseam, but you won't get King to agree on that, because nothing is ever wrong with their design choices)

What's next? Introducing loot boxes with a different name because it's currently not popular among players? They might have planned to do so from the start. One currently "coming soon!" building is supposed to have Moneybags selling you keys. It's a common mechanics to give players loot boxes but you have to buy "keys" to open them.

Thanks I tried that, and got endless load screen... just no way to get back to the game normally ๐Ÿ™„

Just an update on this issue, and not gonna talk about it here anymore cause I'm sick of it, and you all are probably sick of me writing about it..๐Ÿ™ˆ Last night I tried again as you suggested, and it worked for the first ticket (even watched one ad, then forced died and without watching an ad game was successfully loaded into Coco's island) so I completed Aku aku quest finally. ๐Ÿฅณ

But to curb my enthusiasm I lost second ticket even tho I forced died (it was first time and around 700) didn't watch an ad and got endless loading screen... ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿค
